Sucky anonymous comments are the online equivalent of egging my car.

****This post was originally published on The V Spot April 12, 2009****

I wrote a post where I listed 10 things that bugged me. (including litterbugs and bad grammar....)

I got some fun comments... and then I read this one, from "Anonymous".

Add to the list housewives who bitch about they're lives. (grammar mistake intentional just to bug you).Count your blessings instead of whining about them.(From a mother of 3 boys who works full-time).

Gee, Mrs. Anonymous, are you saying that I can only let litterbugs, inconsiderate drivers, and telemarketers bother me if I am a mother who works full-time outside of the house? As a SAHM (of 4 boys!!!) I should not be bothered by such things? (In this case, no-brainers that bother everyone...?)

Are you saying that my dislike of Fritos, Corn-Nuts and the smell of Patchouli is a character flaw, as opposed to personal preference? If I went to work full time, then would it be OK if I did not like these things?

Is it your position that my expectations regarding RSVPs and spelling and grammar rules are ridiculous and that those expectations are created by my lazy, stay-at home-momminess? If I had a full-time job in addition to taking care of my kids, then would it be OK if I tried to instill an appreciation for common courtesy and the rules of the English language...?

You appear to be under the impression that I consider rudeness, littering, etc as blessings. (You said I should be counting them, after all....) You need to improve your reading comprehension. You appear to be under the impression that women who stay home with their kids are gin-soaked housewives, wearing robes and hair curlers, while watching their soaps and back handing their kids.

I don't feel the need to defend my list, so much as I feel the need to point out the hypocrisy and double standards in your bitter comments. Women who are Stay At Home Moms are fortunate, yes, but also smart, talented, funny, over-worked, under-paid, and waaaaaay under-appreciated. If any one of us want to make a list and let off a little steam, that is A-OK.

Mrs. Anonymous? You're an idiot.

Why don't you cool down and pop in here for a drink when you get off work?

You make me laugh. Actually this whole site makes me laugh. {I think it will be the next big thing!} Reminds me of when I quit my job to stay at home {like it was a high end job anyways..I was a part time manager at Gymboree!} I went back in a few weeks later to pick up some clothes and my old mananger asked me what I've been doing. I said oh been busy - PTO stuff. She goes "Oh well I was always the mom who worked full time and was in charge of all of the school stuff. And I had 3 kids, not just 1."

Thanks. Guess that's why I had to quit my job -- I'm just not as awesome as you...

I'm way more busy without my "job" than I ever was with one!!

What the heck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously. I mean seriously. Firstly, you may be one of the funniest people I "know", therefore any list you make is meant with humor. Secondly, people definitely demonstrate their jealousies and insecurities via comments like that. Your response=spot on.

OMG, I love this blog. I haven't gotten any hate comments yet, but I'm new to this and I guess its inevitable. By the way, I'm a working single mom and I really don't understand why some working mom's like these have such a hate for SAHMs. She's probably just jealous, and stupid. lol Love it.

LOL! I don't allow Anon comments on my blog. So if they want to be mean, they have to put their names out there for everyone to see!
I have only had spam comments selling drugs, and blogger takes care of those now!
Love the idea of this new blog!

bahahaha!!! This is my new favorite blog! I think it's so funny that people go out of their way to post rude comments...and don't even have the nerve to say who they are. You guys rock!

Nice. LOL Some people take up too much ozone with their self-important opinions of themselves.

This is great; I usually just remove ugly-ness from my blog, but it just makes me feel so terrible to get them in spite of the ability to get rid of them.

So I totally want to go anonymous and say something horrible just to make it on your page! HA! I'm kidding. This is gonna be fun to read!

I guess people think that SAHM's sit around all day and eat bonbon's and watch soaps.

Whatev. They are just jealous.

lmbo! What is it with these working mommies that think us sahm's lay around and eat bonbons laying by the side of pool watching the hunky pool boy??? Personally, and I know this doesn't go for all working moms, this is only to the rude ones who feel the need to say stuff like that comment...I think they are jealous and intimidated because deep down they know that what we do everyday is much harder. some...well, most days I just think about how much easier it would be if I could just go to work. Most of the moms who work anyway don't really have to...it's a choice they make so that they don't have to sacrifice any of the material things they want and then cry about having to work to pay bills...I know some moms don't have a choice, but most do...so quit hatin' on us!! Sorry stuff like this really makes me mad!

I think you hit the nail on the head! Stay at home Mama's are incredibly overworked and under paid...it is a privelege to have children and why? WHY???? would we choose to work outside the home and let someone else raise them through a daycare? especially if your whole pay check would go to PAYING that stranger to feed and care for your children? Why have them if you are going to let someone else raise them? I believe in you...you are an incredible woman...I blog too and I know how much goes into it...I am so glad you don't let these things bother you...HUGS!

I say us stay at home moms take a stand. When someone asks what you do the answer is now I am a Interior Designer, Chef, Chauffeur, I work in the field of Child development, I am a counselor, Accountant, Maid, tutor, Seamstress, hoochie mama (hee hee) Ok we get the picture. I find it sad that someone wants to write these things.

Wow, are we STILL going there with the working moms vs the stay at home moms? Are we not all in this thing together? LOVE you V!
